sun, sea, sand and rock pools

The other day we took a trip to West Runton in Norfolk to meet up with a very special family.  Bean as usual was shy to start with but as soon as we hit the beach she relaxed.  We played in the sand digging big holes, ran about in the sea, running away as the waves came towards us and spent a lot of time looking in rock pools at the snails and crabs.  It was Bean's first experience of rock pools as they are not something we see at our local beaches and she loved it.  Daddy took her and some of the children from the family we were with to hunt for crabs and she did really well.  We have been having issues with her not wanting to walk recently but she walked a lot today.

Pea had a lovely day playing on the beach with a few of his toys, having a picnic (making a massive mess on the rug!) And had a lovely snooze on mummy.

Just before we left we had an ice cream and spotted the royal navy bomb disposal unit near by.  There had been two hand grenades reported the day before but due to the tide they had to wait to do a safe detonation.  It proved to be an exciting end to a wonderful day.

Painting in the garden

I asked Bean what she would like to do and got one of her standard responces - painting.  With it being a lovely day outside I thought we could do painting outside.  After lunch and with Grandad visiting I set up painting outside.  I rolled some lining paper out on the path and got a tray tub for the paint.  Shoe and sock were removed and grandads jeans rolled up.  With a little helping hand to avoid too much slipping Bean stood into the paint and walked up and down the paper.  A basic error on my part was having a tub of water ready for feet washing so after every walk down the paper Bean stood in the tub of water making the paper very wet.

The activity was a huge sucess and after changing the paper five times we moved on to using paint brushes which turned Bean painting her legs and feet.  However it did not stop there, Grandads legs and feet were soon painted too.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog.  We are a family of four living in a small Suffolk town.  Mummy is 29 and a stay at home mum, Daddy is 35 and a bread baker, Bean is 2.5 and Pea has just turned 7 months.

***a photo will be inserted here when blogger lets me!***

I hope to write about various aspects of our lifes.  With two little ones life can sometimes get bit hectic (and noisy!) so I will blog as and when time allows.
